Just like the rest of my class i'm sooooooo happy to be on Wiki. Just remember to thank the sun,
it started it all!!!!!! How many ecosystems have you seen in your life? More than you think you
have! Think about all the places you've been, those are ecosystems. This year at the Amigos school
we have been observing the beauty of Massachusetts by visiting ecosystems in the Boston area,
like Deer island, the Charles River, Back's Nook pond and many others as well. It's great! We
love them!

Black’s Nook pond
On one of our field trips we went to a pond, called Black's Nook Pond, near [[Fresh pond|]]
I learned that every organism in a pond is very important down to the smallest organism. If
one thing dies out, the food chain will slowly disappear. Every thing’s important for things
to survive!!!!!!!! It’s amazing!!

Welcome to Pond world

Hello World, don't you love Ecosystems!!! They’re just so cool! Especially ponds, I love

ponds!

One pond I think is especially

awesome is Black's Nook Pond.

Fun fun fun

It is a beautiful sunny area filled with trees, life and ponds!!!!!! Ha Ha!!

The Pond in addition to being beautiful, Is a great place to hang out!! It has a

  • golf course near by,

  • and a 2.5 mile path around its fellow pond, Fresh Pond.

Abiotic Description

in the end of September early October we found it to be:

Water: water temperature was similar to the air

but our group was in disagreement about it.

Air: The air temperature was 63º

Land: the land around the pond was cold, filled with trees and beautiful

Climate: sunny but cold. About 63º

we found many interesting abiotic things like:
  • rocks
  • fresh water
  • woodchips
>
* dirt
and many more amazing things.

When we visited in October the temperature was 63 degrees. It was sunny

and beautiful

Life

Some of the producers we located were (on land) algae, grass, trees, (in the water )

plankton and oh-so many more!!!

Some of our lovely herbivores were, turtles, water striders and fish (etc.) The

carnivores were formed by leeches, (eew) mayfly

nymphs, fishes, and dansilfly nymphs

the decomposers were made up of fungi and worms and more, it’s great!

I love it

I gave you some examples of producers, herbivores, carnivores, and decomposers. The

herbivores eat the producers. The

carnivores eat the herbivores and the decomposers eat them all. One food chain I liked,

obviously started with the sun using its

energy the plankton, next the fish , following that, the leech, and last, the decomposers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like ponds, don’t you?!!
